Luci d'Artista 2024 in Salerno Christmas lights

The Christmas season is approaching and Salerno is preparing to transform itself into a veritable corner of magic with its famous illuminations. Every year, the 'Luci d'Artista' attract thousands of visitors eager to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere and enjoy the artistic installations decorating the city's streets. Here is all the information on this year's event.

When the Salerno lights are switched on

Salerno's illuminations will officially light up on 29 November 2024. This event will mark the beginning of the Christmas season in the city of Campania. The installations will remain visible until 19 January 2025offering almost two months to admire the beauty of the lights. Generally, the illuminations are switched on at dusk and remain bright until late in the evening. The opening ceremony will take place at 17:00 at the Villa Comunale and will continue at 18:30 in Piazza Caduti Civili di Brescia. Access to the illuminations is free of charge, allowing anyone to walk around and enjoy them.

The Christmas tree

A central element of Christmas in Salerno is the Christmas tree, positioned in Portanova Square. The lighting of the tree is planned for the first ten days of December, coinciding with the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Last year, the tree was high 22 metresthus promising a bright and fascinating spectacle.

• Castle of the Mischievous Elves: to the complex of St Sophiachildren can give their letters to Father Christmas and the Epiphany on weekends from 6 December to 5 January.
• Jazz in Light: concerts in Portanova Square on 5, 12 and 19 December.
