We finally manage to meet Max Piancazzo and stop him from his daily runs for a few minutes. We ask him to tell us about his job, the kilometres he covers every day and the people he meets.
Hi Max welcome, tell us about yourself, introduce yourself.
Hi, I am an unusual commercial agent, in the restaurant business, which has always been my only job since I came of age, but especially since I have my driving licence!
How did you approach the world of wine?
When I started this job, I did not drink wine, but then, as I got to know the people in this world, I fell in love: both with them and their product.
What do you enjoy most about your profession? And what, on the other hand, is less enjoyable?
The most beautiful thing about my job: to know, to confront, to deepen, to advise.
What I like least, is the mere thought, of not being able to do it.
What new things do you see in the future of the wine world?
I can only give you my opinions, or perceptions.
What I can say is that the evolution of this world is very fast, and keeping up with it is very difficult, but I believe in a continuous increase in the consumption of quality wines, with the producer's guarantee.
Taste' is setting the pace: wines typical of the various territories, characterised by vinification in step with the times.
According to which criteria do you choose the companies you represent?
The concepts that lead me to the selection of companies are: history, quality, consistency and typicality.
How do you support operators in the catering industry with your skills? Are you involved in training?
My job has changed in recent years, and a lot! Training is in the field, every day: customer by customer. The only way that's left today is to focus on the product for the customer, like making shoes to measure, to enable him to run as professionally as possible.
Your dreams, wishes or expectations for the future?
To be loved by my customers, all of whom are now friends, and to share as many experiences as possible with them, both at work and at work-related levels.
