Elena Fucci and Vulture Aglianico: an authentic experience to enjoy with Typigo

Elena Fucci Winery: the Aglianico del Vulture that tells the story of a region
In the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture DOC, amongst the volcanic slopes of Basilicata, lies a place where winemaking tradition becomes an experience. Cantina Elena Fucci is not just a winery: it is a symbol of the bond between people, the land and history. Founded in 2000 by Elena Fucci, an oenologist and wine storyteller, the winery was born out of a desire to transform a family legacy into a distinctive wine-making project, capable of bringing the Vulture to life in the glass and beyond.
The vineyard is situated in Contrada Solagna del Titolo in Barile, at an altitude of around 600 metres on the deeply volcanic soils of Mount Vulture. These mineral-rich soils give the wines an unmistakable aromatic depth and structure, which are the cornerstone of the reputation of Aglianico del Vulture wine. Wide rows and old vines, many over 60 years old, bear witness to a way of working that combines respect for nature with meticulous care of the vines.
A way of life deeply rooted in the local area
Elena’s story is a story of choice. Having grown up surrounded by her family’s vineyards, as a young woman Elena faced the classic crossroads: whether to leave and pursue a career elsewhere, or to stay and make the most of what her homeland had to offer. She decided to study viticulture and oenology and to devote her life to winemaking, rejecting the idea of selling the vineyards. This led to the founding of the winery and its first major star: the Titolo wine, a single-varietal cru from the very beginning, designed to express the identity of the place from which it comes.
Over the years, the range has been expanded to include special editions, such as the Titolo Superiore and the Titolo Riserva, as well as modern interpretations such as ageing in amphorae, all designed to express the potential of Aglianico in different ways.
But Elena’s commitment extends beyond the winery: she has also launched E&A Fine Wines, a project dedicated to preserving the vineyards of small-scale local farmers that would otherwise be at risk of being abandoned, thereby supporting a cultural and landscape heritage that is both a social asset and a source of vitality for the local area.
