Ingredients for 1 person:
- Tuna or swordfish steak: 160 g
- Breadcrumbs: enough
- Sesame seeds: just enough
- Garlic clove: 1, chopped
Ingredients for the flavoured sauce
- Extra virgin olive oil: 1-2 tablespoons
- Organic lemon: 1, both grated peel and juice
- Salt: just enough
- Ground pepper: just enough
- Aromatic herbs to taste (such as parsley, basil or thyme)
- Chilli (optional): to taste
- Balsamic vinegar (optional): to taste
Procedure:
- Prepare the flavoured sauce:
- In a bowl, combine 1-2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil with salt and ground pepper.
- Add the grated peel of a lemon and its juice. Stir well.
- Incorporate the chosen herbs and, if desired, a pinch of chilli or a dash of balsamic vinegar. Stir again.
- Marinating fish:
- Generously brush the flavoured mix on both sides of the fish slice.
- Let the fish rest for a few minutes so that it absorbs the flavours.
- Breading the fish:
- In a dish, mix the breadcrumbs, sesame seeds and chopped garlic.
- Bread the fish slice well on both sides, making sure it is completely covered by the breadcrumbs.
- Cooking:
- Brush a frying pan with some of the remaining flavoured sauce.
- Heat the frying pan over medium heat.
- Gently lay the fish slice and cook it for about 5 minutes per side, or until golden and crispy.
- Serve:
- Once cooked, you can serve the breaded fish with a light side dish such as a fresh salad or grilled vegetables.
- Complete the dish with a drizzle of oil and, if you like, a squeeze of fresh lemon.
Notes:
- You can vary the type of fish according to availability and your preferences.
- Experiment with different herbs to customise the flavour.
- If you prefer a lighter breading, you can opt for a mixture of breadcrumbs and cornflour.
