Recipe

This recipe is a simple way of turning just a few ingredients into a compact and practical source of energy.

These puffed rice and dark chocolate bars combine lightness with nutritional density: readily available carbohydrates, healthy fats from nuts and polyphenols from cocoa.

In the Typigo model, they are classified as mindful, structured snacking, an alternative to processed snacks with a high sugar content.

Ingredients

  • 50 g of puffed rice (or puffed amaranth)

  • 100 g of extra dark chocolate (min. 70%)

  • 30 g of walnuts (about 8–10)

  • Chopped seeds to taste: sesame, pumpkin, sunflower

Procedure

  1. Toast the puffed rice (or amaranth) in the oven for a few minutes, until it is lightly golden.

  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a bain-marie.

  3. Chop the walnuts and seeds into large pieces.

  4. Quickly mix together the toasted rice, dried fruit and melted chocolate.

  5. Spread the mixture onto a baking tray lined with baking paper.

  6. Smooth the surface and leave to cool completely.

  7. Cut into bars of the desired size.

Storage: 3–4 days in an airtight container, preferably a tin.

Nutrition advice

This bar is ideal:

  • As an afternoon snack

  • Before exercising

  • As an alternative to packaged snacks

To help maintain better blood sugar balance, it can be accompanied by a light source of protein (plain yoghurt or a plant-based drink with no added sugar).

Key ingredient

Extra dark chocolate

High-cocoa-content chocolate contains polyphenols with antioxidant properties.

Choosing a percentage higher than 70% reduces the sugar content and increases the nutritional value.
